The pregnancy journey we don’t talk about enough: Suzy’s story
In 2024, Suzy was pregnant and ready to embrace a new chapter in her life. She’d been thinking about booking a shoot with me to celebrate, but before she reached out, life changed course. That little soul wasn’t ready for this world, and she miscarried.
In that moment, it would have been easy, not just easy, but expected for her to quietly step away, to let the idea of a shoot fade into the background. But instead, she made a choice that still moves me deeply: she booked the session anyway. Not as the joyful celebration she had imagined, but as a way to claim her body with fierceness, to honour her story, and to mark this chapter for what it was—a transition, not an ending.
A year later, I heard from Suzy again. This time, her body was full of new life… she was fully pregnant, radiant, and strong. She wanted to capture herself in all her power, strength, and beauty.
What unfolded wasn’t just a pregnancy shoot. It was a testament to her journey—a woman moving through grief, finding wholeness, and celebrating the fiercely resilient female body. It was about honouring every chapter, even the ones that don’t unfold as we expect, and recognising the beauty in the body that carries us through it all.
