The Freedom of a new name - Mirala’s story

Tell us a little about yourself.

My name is Mirala Starlight. I'm a Galactic Guide for Starseeds, holding space for Missioned Souls who carry the keys and codes to unlock a new way of being on Earth by anchoring and activating their signature body of work. Through deep Quantum Shifts, Galactic Remembrance, and reconnection with Star Lineage, we open the doorway for those on the precipice of greatness to embody their Star Gifts and step into leadership as a steward of their Soul's sacred offering.

I'm a Virgo Sun, Scorpio Moon and Leo Rising. I felt this shoot really brought out the Leo rising in me, one of my favourite aspects to lean into.

What initiated you to do a shoot for yourself?

Coming out the other side of an 8 year marriage, I was guided to take on a whole new name — both first and last!! — so it was a big shift. This shoot was a way of celebrating myself, marking the transition, and acknowledging my new identity. I wanted a space that would enable me to be present in this new energy in an intentional way, and would also give me tangible imagery I could take with me and showcase as part of my fresh start.

What drew you to book your shoot with Oasis?

Funnily enough, I was perusing the IG grid of another photographer, when one shot stood out. When I clicked on it, it was by Mae. I was struck by the grace, expertise and allure in the shot. When I saw more of the same on her website, I knew Maegan would be the one to hold the and deliver on the experience I was hoping for.

What were some doubts leading up to the shoot? and how did you feel afterwards?

I've done photo shoots before, so I was feeling pretty confident. What was different about this one, was the outfits. I had some ideas in mind, but had not made any final decisions. So when Mae and I connected in the days before the shoot, I realised there was an invitation to step away from the more rigid, structured attire I felt comfortable in (and had planned to wear!), and into the whimsical feminine clothing she offers as part of the package.

This was such an important moment for me.

Seeing this enabled me to feel into, open up and become even more receptive to the soft, vulnerable feminine energy that was wanting to come through and anchor as part of the transition.

Leaning into the feminine outfits and colours opened up a whole new world of possibility and access to the feminine — perhaps that I would not have otherwise. As a result, I was able to access a soft feminine power that has stayed with me ever since.

Did you have a stand out favourite part of the shoot?

I loved the peak of the shoot. Once I had softened, we went up on the hill to capture one of the final looks and a new angle overlooking the bay. Maegan guided me to open my channel and Light Language began streaming through.

The light was falling in just the right places and she captured it in ways I could never have imagined was possible. Seeing those shots on Mae's lens and the sheer beauty emanating from them was a thrilling moment and I knew I had placed my trust in the right place.

Can you share a piece of advice or insight that has been instrumental in your journey of self-acceptance and self-love?

For me it has been about connecting with the beauty within — and becoming brave and open enough to open and allow that beauty to radiate from me, opening up my whole face and being with joy.

Are there specific people, role models, or communities that have been influential in your journey back to self and body love? How have they supported or inspired you?

My journey to date has been a rough one, and has felt pretty ugly at times. I feel that learning to lean into and love the ugly, unsavoury and seemingly unacceptable parts of myself — the ones I judged so harshly —  has been instrumental in bringing myself back to the true nature of who I am and finding the light within.

I have always loved the Chinese proverb:

"If there is light in the soul, there will be beauty in the person.
If there is beauty in the person, there will be harmony in the house.
If there is harmony in the house, there will be order in the nation.
If there is order in the nation, there will be peace in the world."

And I am only now understanding why. It speaks to the importance of being able to find the light within as the stepping stone to all that we desire, and an essential foundation for healthy, whole and unified civilisations.

Without being willing to look at those dark and ugly parts of myself, I doubt I would be where I am now, feeling so bright, shiny, connected, and deeply in love with who I am and becoming — and confident in what I am bringing to the world as a leader, co-creator and contributor to the new way on Earth.

What advice would you give to other women who are at the beginning of their journey to 'coming home' and embracing their bodies?

Go deeper than what you 'see' on the surface. Go into the feelings, and meet them with love.

Would your younger self be proud of the woman you are today?

My younger self would be in AWE of the woman I am today. She would probably have no idea what to make of me, and all the wild and wonderful things I believe in and emit. But hopefully I would have her laughing with joy and hope at what is ahead, buoyed by the strong and courageous woman she has become.
